P7210048WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP POLICE YOUTH ACADEMY

The West Windsor Township Police Department is offering an opportunity for the West Windsor Township youth to come and learn about the job functions of the police officers in their community. The program will last one week with four hour blocks of instruction/activities each day. Children must be available all five days to participate. Children will have the opportunity to interact closely with police officers through such activities as physical training, search and arrest techniques, crime scene processing, and much, much more. Participants will receive a T-shirt and hat to wear as part of their “uniform”. Graduates will take an oath and receive certificates of completion during the celebration at the conclusion of the program.

Registration Begins: Monday March 16, 2020 at 9 am Hours at WWPD Headquarters

Registration Ends: Friday April 3, 2020 at 3 pm

Youth Academy Dates: Monday-Friday June 22-26, 2020

LOCATION: West Windsor Township PD Headquarters, 20 Municipal Drive

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all children of West Windsor Township entering 5th and 6th grades. Class size will be limited to the first 20 participants on a first come, first serve basis. In 2018, there were parents lined up hours ahead of the official opening.

FEE: There is NO CHARGE to participants

REGISTRATION BEGINS IN PERSON AT WWPD HEADQUARTERS: Monday, March 25, 2019 at 0900 Hours

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday April 5, 2019 at 0900 Hours
