Winter Storm #6-3
Update #2
March 3, 2019

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area beginning this afternoon. The forecast is for this winter storm to begin as a rain event, later turning to mixed precipitation, and then all snow. Total snow and sleet accumulation projections have been increased to 4 to 8 inches of possible accumulation by morning.

It is important to note that the temperature is still projected to hover at or near the freezing mark during the overnight hours which could have a significant impact on the snow totals. Regardless, it is expected that road conditions during the morning hours will be hazardous.
As we continue to monitor the storm, we remind you of the following:

  1. As previously declared by the Marlboro Office of Emergency Management (OEM) no additional brush may be placed curbside until further notice.
  2. As per Town Ordinance, no vehicles or other obstructions (ie, basketball hoops) may be in the roadway when the ground is snow covered.
  3. Visit www.Marlboro-nj.gov and click ‘Communications for Residents’ (top right button) to register for multiple lines of communication.
  4. Please review and keep accessible the 'Surviving the Snow' brochure that can be found in the Town Recycling Calendar centerfold and online. The brochure includes important local information, phone numbers and websites.
  5. Please review your preparedness kit and check for expired items. Do not forget those with special needs, the elderly, and pets.

Marlboro Public Works (DPW) is fully prepared for this winter storm event and will have personnel reporting beginning this evening. DPW will adjust plans and mobilize the resources to deal with snow removal as needed.

The Marlboro Office of Emergency Management will continue to track this storm and communicate any changes in the current NWS forecast.
