Weekend Update – Columbus Day

Dear Resident,

I hope everyone has been enjoying our beautiful fall weather.  Please note that Town Hall Municipal Offices and the Recycling Center are closed on Monday, October 11 in observance of Columbus Day.  The Police are open 24/7 and can be reached by calling 732-536-0100.  Emergencies dial 911.

A reminder from our Police Division of Traffic and Safety that from October to December deer become more active, especially between dusk and dawn.  Drive with caution, slow down and remember that deer often travel in packs.

We have a busy fall filled with events and programs. Please see below for more.

PROGRAMS/NEWS

FiOS/Optimum/Internet – I am often asked why the entire town does not have access to FiOS.  We put together a Marlboro TV and Internet FAQ that explains why Marlboro, along with many other towns in the state, do not have access to more than one company for cable/Wi-Fi service, what you can do to improve your existing service, and ways to ‘cut the cord’.  Please read the newsletter HERE.

Brush Collection – Brush collection is underway by zone. To keep our streets safe for pedestrians and bicyclists and to allow rainwater to flow to the sewers, please not place brush in the street and do not place for collection more than one week prior to your first collection date.  Collection dates and regulations are detailed in the letter sent via email, posted on the website and linked HERE.

Landscaper Registration - All landscapers who do work for hire in Marlboro Township must register with the Township. We ask for your assistance in informing your landscaper.  MORE

COVID-19 UPDATE

This past week we held a COVID vaccine booster clinic in cooperation with the Monmouth County Health Department. Many residents took advantage of the opportunity and convenience and we will plan another one in the near future.  To learn more about boosters and to see who is eligible, please visit the state website HERE

COVID Testing - We are pleased to announce that the COVID-19 testing truck will return to Marlboro later this month. Details will be forthcoming.

I am pleased to announce that Marlboro residents continue to be ahead of the average in vaccination percents. Virtually all of our residents over age 65 and 91% of those age 18 and over have had at least one vaccine. If you have not yet scheduled your second shot, you can find locations HERE.

Have a great weekend and I hope to see you at our upcoming events.
