WINTER STORM WATCH UPDATE #1

Dear Resident,

A Winter Storm Watch for our area is in effect beginning early Thursday morning, February 18 at 4:00 am until Friday, February 19 at 1:00pm.  The storm system has shifted further south, increasing our snow totals and placing us more firmly in the 6-8” accumulation area.  Snow is expected to develop very late tonight/early Thursday morning.  Snowfall rates can reach up to one inch per hour especially from 6am to 2pm causing travel conditions to deteriorate rapidly.

Please note the following:

  • Remove vehicles/obstructions from the roads before you head to bed this evening. As per ordinance, roads must be clear during snow plow operations.
  • Brush collection has been postponed until further notice and no lawn debris may be placed curbside.
  • The COVID testing truck will be closed Friday.  As per the schedule, the testing truck is open today from 1pm -7pm.  FLYER.

Additional notice of schedule adjustments will be made via a combination of email, social media, SWIFT 911, and the Town website.  As some lines of communication are disrupted during a weather emergency please ensure you are registered for multiple communication methods.

Please take the time now to plan and prepare:

  • Visit www.Marlboro-nj.gov and click ‘Communications for Residents’ (top right button) to register for multiple lines of communication.
    • Marlboro Township e-bulletin (if you are receiving this notice as an email, you are registered for the bulletins). If you did not, click HERE to register.
    • SWIFT 911 – Register your home and cell phones. Most home phones are inoperable if a power outage occurs. The Marlboro Police and OEM deliver urgent updates via SWIFT 911.
    • Like us on Facebook @marlborotownship
    • Follow us on Twitter @MarlboroTwp
  • Please review our ‘Surviving the Snow’ brochure. It includes important local information, phone numbers and websites.
  • Please review your preparedness kit and check for expired items. Do not forget those with special needs, the elderly, and pets.  Ready.gov is a great resource for before, during and after a storm.
  • Optimum website how to stay connected when the power is out, how to report an outage, FAQ and more.

We will continue to monitor the weather and update you as more becomes available. Please review the prior storm updates on our storm page linked below.  Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.
