WINTER STORM WARNING – Update #2

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service has upgraded our area to a WINTER STORM WARNING in effect from 4am Thursday, February 18 until Friday, February 19 at 10am.  Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are forecast.  Snow overspreads the area early Thursday morning and could be heavy at times in the morning and early afternoon. A change to sleet and freezing rain is expected by late afternoon or evening. Light wintry precipitation will likely continue into the daytime hours on Friday. Travel could be very difficult and we ask that if you can stay home, please do so.

Please take the remainder of this evening to complete storm preparations.  Your cooperation is needed during snowfall events to help the Township complete snow removal.

  1. Before you go to bed, remove vehicles and all obstructions from the roadways.  NO vehicles or personal property such as basketball hoops should be in roadways during snow events and should remain off the roadways until all salting and plowing has been completed.
  2. Zone 3 Recycling – There is no pickup tomorrow, Thursday February 18.  No items should be placed curbside.  Zone 3 makeup recycling date will be Saturday, February 20. Place recycling curbside by 7am.
  3. The COVID testing truck is CLOSED Friday, February 19.  It is open, as scheduled, today until 7pm.  FLYER.

Please remember:

  • Keep electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops and tablet computers fully charged.
  • Keep a flashlight, portable radio and extra batteries handy.
  • Gather extra blankets or a sleeping bag for each person.
  • If you have a water well and pump, keep an emergency supply of bottled water and/or fill your bathtub with fresh water.
