WINTER STORM WATCH – Update #2
Dear Resident,
We remain under a National Weather Service (NWS) Winter Storm Watch beginning Wednesday, December 16 at 10:00am ending Thursday, December 17 at 10:00 am (note the slight change in effective times). There remains a low confidence for snow amounts in our area and will depend on the mix of heavy snow, rain and sleet. Our Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the situation.
This storm can bring with it high winds and the chance for power outages. We have been in contact with JCP&L and they are prepared to activate its storm response and Incident Command System plans if needed. Please review their Storm Preparedness checklist HERE.
I remind residents that it is important that we have as many ways to communicate with you as possible especially in times of emergency. Emails, Social Media, website and SWIFT 911 calls are all utilized in different situations. During power outages, most house phones do not receive calls and so we ask you to register both your home and cell phones and opt in for texting. If you are not comfortable with smart phones, we suggest that you ask a family member to register for emails and calls so they can help keep you informed. Registration for all our communication options can be found by clicking here: Communications for Residents
Please review Update #1 sent yesterday and linked below for important websites and phone numbers. We will continue to monitor the weather and update as more becomes available. Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.
